Children who eat poorly, get sick often, and don't grow well
Picky eaters with small appetites do not absorb enough nutrients, so their immunity weakens. Because immunity is weak, they get sick frequently, and because they are sick, they eat even less — falling into a vicious cycle. If this pattern becomes fixed during the growth period, even height growth can be affected.
Why Gyeongokgo is suitable for children
- Strengthens spleen and stomach: Korean ginseng (人蔘) and Poria (茯苓) lift weak digestive function and help restore appetite
- Tonifies the lungs: Fresh Rehmannia root (生地黃) and honey protect the respiratory mucosa, reducing the frequency of colds
- Taste: Because it is honey-based, even children who dislike herbal medicine generally take it well
- Safety: With its mild composition free of strong herbs, it places little burden on children
Pediatric dosage
- Ages 3 to 6: Once a day, 1/3 of the adult dose (about 3 g)
- Ages 7 to 12: 1 to 2 times a day, 1/2 of the adult dose (about 5 g)
- Dissolving in warm water or mixing into porridge makes it easier for children to take
Habits to combine with Gyeongokgo
- Maintain regular meal times — important for establishing the rhythm of the spleen and stomach
- Reduce cold foods and ice cream and focus on warm foods
- Spend time outdoors to ensure exposure to natural light and physical activity
