Summary

A meta-analysis of 9 randomized controlled trials including 634 urolithiasis patients. The combined herbal medicine (modified Seokwi-san) and acupuncture treatment group showed a stone spontaneous expulsion rate of 78.3%, significantly higher than the control group (54.2%), with average expulsion time also shortened by 5.2 days.

Conclusion

Combined herbal medicine and acupuncture treatment significantly promotes spontaneous expulsion of urolithiasis 10 mm or less and is effective as adjunctive treatment for watchful waiting.
