Summary
A meta-analysis analyzing weight and body composition changes with combined acupuncture-electroacupuncture treatment in men with BMI 25 or higher. Twelve randomized controlled trials (total 756 subjects) were included, confirming an average weight reduction of 3.8 kg and body fat percentage reduction of 2.9% in the treatment group. Electroacupuncture centered on abdominal acupoints was most effective.
