Q. How is pharmacopuncture used for skin conditions?

A.

Pharmacopuncture injects anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic herbal compounds directly into acupoints. Particularly effective for severe itching, chronic inflammation, and recurrent skin conditions.

📝 Detailed Answer

Pharmacopuncture is a treatment that injects a small amount of fluid refined from medicinal herbs at tender points or acupuncture points.

In skin conditions we mainly use it at points on the back and the hands and feet. The purpose is to address itching, sleep and the whole-body state.

There is an important principle. We do not perform it on an area with a lesion, an area that is weeping, or an area broken by scratching. The skin barrier has broken down there and the infection risk is high.

Where you have atopic dermatitis or psoriasis, the Koebner phenomenon (a lesion arising at a site that has been irritated) can appear, so we are even more careful in choosing the site.

Bee venom pharmacopuncture carries the possibility of an allergic reaction, so if you have an allergic condition such as atopic dermatitis we judge with particular care. When it is performed, we always check a prior skin reaction.
