Herbal Medicine

A paediatric prescription is not an adult one at a reduced dose — the composition of the ingredients itself is different. That does not mean there are no side effects; rash, diarrhoea or vomiting can occur rarely. If there is fever or the child becomes listless, paediatric care comes before herbal medicine.

Q. My child does not want to take the herbal medicine — what should we do?

A.

We adjust the formulation and the amount. Changing the method is better than forcing it.

📝 Detailed Answer

In most cases the refusal is because of the taste. We can reduce the amount per dose and split the number of doses, or change to a granule form.

Forcing it makes them refuse more next time. If they are vomiting or crying while taking it, please stop and tell us. We adjust the prescription or substitute another treatment.

Mixing it into juice or milk is not recommended with some medicines, so please ask us before mixing it.
