Summary
One hundred fifty-six patients with perennial allergic rhinitis were randomized to modified Okbyeongpung-san or loratadine groups for 8 weeks of treatment. The herbal group's TNSS (Total Nasal Symptom Score) reduction rate was 58%, non-inferior to loratadine (49%), with significantly lower recurrence rates 4 weeks after treatment completion.

Conclusion
Modified Okbyeongpung-san demonstrates equivalent efficacy to conventional medication in allergic rhinitis symptom control and is superior in long-term recurrence prevention.
