Chuna Therapy

Chuna addresses alignment and muscle tension; herbal medicine addresses the internal state. We do not recommend Chuna for tonic purposes alone — it is a treatment performed when there is a musculoskeletal problem. It is not performed, or is limited, in osteoporosis, a history of compression fracture, recent fracture, previous spinal surgery, or pregnancy.

Q. Is Chuna for tonic purposes also covered by insurance?

A.

Chuna therapy is covered by health insurance. If diagnosed with a musculoskeletal condition, insurance applies. Even when the goal is tonification, accompanying symptoms often qualify for insurance.

📝 Detailed Answer

A tonifying purpose in itself is not a subject for national health insurance cover.

Chuna therapy is covered by national health insurance where it has been diagnosed as a musculoskeletal condition and treatment is needed. That is, it becomes a covered subject when there really is a problem in the back or neck and, after examination, treatment is judged necessary.

We do not attach a diagnosis for the sake of insurance cover where there are no symptoms. We say this plainly.

Chuna has an annual limit on covered sessions, and the co-payment rate differs by the type of procedure. The scheme and criteria can change, so we explain on the current basis when you attend.
